The answer

It has not been established that the Prophet, peace be upon him, had a Jewish neighbor in Mecca. Rather, the authentic narrations indicate that he had a Jewish neighbor in Medina, as narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, visited his Jewish neighbor. It is also narrated in Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq that the Prophet, peace be upon him, visited his sick Jewish neighbor and offered him the two declarations of faith (Shahadatayn). The neighbor embraced Islam and died, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, took charge of his affairs. In Kitab al-Athar by Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, it is mentioned that the Prophet, peace be upon him, visited his sick Jewish neighbor and offered him the two declarations of faith, whereupon he embraced Islam.
