How is the inheritance of the shop that was owned by the grandfather divided, which was not divided after his death in the early 1980s, and the two brothers continued to utilize and develop it until it became a great wealth, knowing that the original shop was later sold, and now the daughter is demanding her right to the inheritance that grew due to its investment by her two brothers for half a century?
It is not permissible to deprive daughters of their rightful share in inheritance. Whoever does so is sinful and has transgressed the boundaries of Allah. They must repent and return the rights to their rightful owners.
All the money left by the deceased constitutes the estate. The daughter's legal share is half that of a male. It is not permissible for the male heirs to refrain from dividing the estate and exploit it without the sister's permission, as that is consuming others' wealth unlawfully. They must repent and divide the rights according to Islamic law.
Any profits generated from exploiting the estate must also be distributed according to the legal division. The brothers who worked are entitled to a customary wage or a usual percentage of the profit for their labor.
Agency in commerce is invalidated upon the death of the principal, and the heirs must agree on the division.
Efforts should be made to reconcile among the heirs, especially relatives, as this prevents problems and strengthens ties. Reconciliation for an unknown amount is permissible if it cannot be ascertained, which many scholars have affirmed.
