What is the ruling regarding a man who contracted to marry a woman, then met with her and fornicated with her without their prior knowledge that they were a married couple, and would the child be attributed to them?

As for sin, they both incur the sin of adulterers according to their intention, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Actions are but by intentions." As for the prescribed punishment, there is no prescribed punishment upon them. As for the child, it is attributed to him, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "The child is for the bed."
