The answer

Ascertaining the method of slaughter and the pronouncement of Allah's name (Tasmiyah) during ritual slaughter in cities and villages is not feasible. Allah has removed hardship and responsibility beyond one's capacity. Therefore, if a country is Muslim, there is no harm in eating from their ritually slaughtered meat, even if corruption and ignorance have spread, unless it is confirmed that the slaughterer cursed Allah or ridiculed the religion. In such a case, their slaughtered animal is like the slaughtered animal of the Majus (Zoroastrians). The people of that country are treated as Muslims unless clear apostasy is manifest from them.
