What is the ruling on a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim, if the marriage is for show and for the purpose of residing in non-Muslim countries, with the intention of divorce and paying money to the husband?

It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim, even if it is a

pro-forma marriage to obtain residency. Such a marriage is forbidden and

invalid. Similarly, a pro-forma marriage to a Muslim man, intended as a trick

to circumvent the law to obtain residency, is forbidden deception and fraud. The

marriage contract should not be trifled with or used as a stratagem, for

Allah Almighty says: {And do not take the verses of Allah in jest} (Quran

2:231), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "What is wrong

with people who play with the limits of Allah and mock His verses: 'I have

divorced you, I have taken you back; I have divorced you, I have taken you

back'?"
