What is the wisdom behind concealing the unseen, as stated in the noble verse: "Nor would Allah apprise you of the unseen"?
Knowledge of the unseen is exclusive to Allah Almighty, for He alone knows what is in the heavens and the earth. Allah has made this clear in many verses, and He has not granted creation access to it, except for those messengers whom He has approved, such as those He chose, from among the angels and humans, to convey His messages. Allah has concealed the unseen from people for several reasons, among them: to affirm His exclusivity in knowing the unseen, to keep those accountable within the sphere of trial, and to grant peace to the hearts of His servants from the worries of the future. For if a person knew his destiny, his soul would be shattered, and he would be unable to fulfill his role of vicegerency on earth. Allah has granted us access to the best knowledge, which is the knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah, in which He has clarified for us what we need, and has withheld from us what we do not need of the unseen.
