Is it not time for the trusted Muslim scholars to put an end to the cessation of ijtihad, and for the books of Sahih to be cleansed of the fabricated hadiths, such as the hadith of temporary marriage (mut'ah) which contradicts the Noble Quran?

Ijtihad has not ceased, and the hadith concerning temporary marriage (nikah al-mut'ah) is not fabricated but narrated in the Two Sahihs, and its practice was abrogated. The scholars of hadith have sifted through the hadiths and distinguished the authentic from the weak since ancient times. Imam al-Bukhari spent sixteen years compiling his Sahih from approximately six hundred thousand hadiths, and he did not leave but a small number after severe scrutiny.
