How many Surahs are there in the Holy Quran, divided into Makki and Madani?

Ibn Sa'd narrated in al-Tabaqat from Ibn Abbas, who said: "I asked Ubayy ibn Ka'b about what was revealed in the Qur'an in Medina, and he said: 'Twenty-seven surahs were revealed there, and the rest in Mecca.'"
