What should a woman do who vowed to slaughter a cow and distribute it after recovery, but her husband refused, so she paid 1200 Riyals and distributed it to the poor, and is now worried after learning about the obligation to fulfill the original vow?

A Muslim should not obligate themselves to a vow (nadhr), for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, a vow does not bring forth any good; it only extracts from the miser."

However, if a Muslim vows an act of obedience to Allah, they must fulfill it, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him."

Therefore, if you vowed to slaughter a cow if you were cured, and you were cured, then you are obligated to slaughter a cow and distribute it. The vow is not discharged by giving 1200 Qatari Riyals in charity as long as you are able to slaughter. If the specified time for slaughtering has passed, you are liable for an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin) due to the delay, which is: freeing a slave, or feeding ten needy persons, or clothing them.
