What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a man divorcing his wife in order to marry another, thereby destroying his home and affecting his son's psyche, knowing that his ex-wife agreed to the divorce and they have a son, and that the new wife and her family stipulated that he not have his first wife in his wedlock, and that the former husband believed he was under a spell of magic?

What the woman did, by stipulating the divorce of the questioner, is forbidden and impermissible, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "It is not lawful for a woman to ask for the divorce of her sister to empty her plate (i.e., take her share), for indeed she will only have what has been decreed for her." This act is from the destruction of Satan and his causing separation between spouses. The divorce by the husband is disliked without justification, but it does occur. The questioner should turn to Allah to choose what is best for her, for there might be much good in this matter.
