How is the inheritance of a man who died leaving behind his wife, four daughters, and one brother distributed?

"To his wife goes one-eighth, and to his four daughters go two-thirds. The remainder goes as ta’sib (residuary heirship) to his full brother or paternal half-brother, based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Give the prescribed shares to those entitled to them; then whatever remains is for the closest male.”

Thus, the inheritance is divided into 24 shares: the wife receives 3 shares, the daughters receive 16 shares (4 shares for each daughter), and the brother receives 5 shares.

However, if the brother is a maternal half-brother, he receives nothing, as he is excluded by the daughters. In this case, the inheritance is divided into 32 shares: the wife receives 4 shares, and each daughter receives 7 shares.

It is obligatory to submit inheritance matters to the Sharia courts for investigation, due to the potential existence of wills, debts, or other rights that take precedence over the heirs' rights."
