Is it permissible to give zakat to friends as a loan, knowing that they are unable to repay it, in order to help them establish a home and get married?

If the companions are poor or needy, it is permissible to give them Zakat (definition) with the intention of marriage, provided that ownership of it is transferred to them, not loaned. If it is known that they will not accept Zakat, then it is forbidden to give it to them, because it does not enter into their possession except with their acceptance. In that case, they can be helped with voluntary charity without informing them that it is Zakat.
