What happens after death and the reckoning by the two angels? Where does the soul go? And what does the life of Barzakh mean?

When a servant dies, his soul is buried with him in his grave, and the two angels come to him to question him. His state in the Barzakh (interim period between death and resurrection) then depends on his repentance. The locations of souls vary after the questioning by the two angels. Some are in the courtyards of graves, some are in Paradise, some are confined at the gate of Paradise, and some move around. Ibn al-Qayyim favored the view that there is no specific place for souls after the questioning by the two angels.
