Is it necessary to repeat ablution if one of the limbs was washed four times by mistake?

Wudu’ does not need to be repeated if a limb was washed four times by mistake or out of forgetfulness, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Indeed, Allah has pardoned for me my Ummah their mistakes, their forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into.”

Intentionally exceeding three washes in wudu’ is disliked, and some have even prohibited it. However, wudu’ is not invalidated by it, even if done intentionally, and it does not need to be repeated according to the majority of scholars.
