Is it permissible for a woman to follow a funeral procession, especially if it is her father’s, and with her brothers and mother accompanying her? And what is the ruling on her action or its reward?

Following funerals is reprehensible for women according to the majority of scholars, in contrast to those who permitted or prohibited it. The evidence for this is the hadith of Umm Atiyyah: "We were forbidden from following funerals, but it was not made obligatory upon us" (Agreed upon), and the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to women who went out in a funeral procession: "Return, burdened with sin, not rewarded" (Narrated by Ibn Majah). The reprehensibility is established in all cases, whether the deceased was a relative or if one of her male mahrams was among those accompanying the funeral.
