What is the reason for the prohibition of the act of sodomy in Islam, and the punishment of the perpetrator and the recipient with death, as mentioned in some noble hadiths?

This includes the prohibition of sodomy due to its vileness, its contradiction of sound human nature, and the harms and corruptions it entails. Its perpetrator is punished with the severest penalties, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever you find doing the act of the people of Lot, kill the doer and the one to whom it is done."
