Is irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and the resulting continuous flatulence, especially at the time of Fajr prayer, along with the inability to control it, a reason for abandoning Fajr prayer or repeating it multiple times? And is the emission of very slight, soundless, odorless gas considered among the things that invalidate ablution? And is a person afflicted with irritable bowel syndrome considered among those with valid excuses?

The mere feeling of gas, abdominal discomfort, and doubt about passing wind do not nullify ablution (wudu’). Rather, it is nullified only when one is certain of its emission. If the questioner suffers from actual involuntary flatulence and cannot find a time to pray with proper purity, she should perform ablution after the prayer time has begun and pray. She is not required to repeat the prayer or the ablution, because "Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity."
