The answer

The hadith narrated by Al-Hakim from Abu Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet, with the wording: "There will be a great noise in the month of Ramadan...", Al-Hakim said about it: "It is a hadith with a strange text, and Maslamah [one of its narrators] is also someone whose narration cannot be used as proof." As for the other wording narrated from Ibn Mas'ud, attributed to the Prophet, with the wording: "When there is a cry in Ramadan, there will be a great clamor in Shawwal...", Al-Dhahabi ruled it as fabricated, and so did Ibn Al-Qayyim.
