What is the ruling on raising hamsters, and do they fall under the ruling of mice mentioned in the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "There are five animals for whose killing there is no sin: the crow, the kite, the mouse, the scorpion, and the rabid dog"?

The hamster resembles a mouse; it is a genus of rodents, with about 15 species. It is not permissible to acquire or raise hamsters; rather, they must be killed because they are a type of corruptive and harmful rodent that Islamic law has commanded to kill. Scholars have stated that the ruling on mice includes all their genera regarding the prohibition of eating them and the permissibility of killing them. Furthermore, raising these animals is considered a waste and squandering of money and time.
