Is it possible to interpret my suffering from depression, chest tightness, difficulty in affairs, forgetfulness, lack of success in marriage and friendships, and defamation, as a result of affliction by jinn and the evil eye, as I have been told? And does a pious believer not go mad? And what should I do to treat myself with Ruqyah without needing to go to شيخs?
Suffering can be overcome by adhering to piety (taqwa) towards Allah and engaging in His remembrance, frequently seeking forgiveness (Istighfar), and performing ruqyah (exorcism) for protection from the evil eye, possession, and magic, while avoiding exorcists who deal with jinn or magic. One must avoid pessimism and exaggerating negative feelings, and instead, be optimistic and have a good opinion of Allah. A pious believer may fall ill like anyone else, but jinn keep away from a strong believer. Furthermore, family problems can affect mental health; it is recommended to supplicate for one's parents' righteousness and to consult a female psychiatrist if necessary.
