The question

Is marriage preordained, and does Allah bring about the means, such as encounter and acceptance, to fulfill His decree, or does the servant have a role in choosing? And is it correct to say that marriage is "Qisma wa Naseeb" (destiny and share)?

The answer

Everything that happens to a servant is predetermined and inscribed in the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz) fifty thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth. What Allah wills comes to be, and what He does not will does not come to be. This does not negate the servant's free will or absolve him from the responsibility of taking legitimate means. Rather, he must work and take means, for everyone is facilitated for what they were created for, and these means are part of Allah's decree.
