Is the Qur’an the only book that cures physical and spiritual diseases, such as cancer and sorcery, and are other books, such as the Gospel and the Torah, unable to do so? And what is the ruling on one who claims that their books cure diseases just as the Qur’an does?

There is no text that definitively states that Ruqyah with the Torah and the Gospel cures illnesses. However, the origin of both is that they are the word of Allah, even if distortion has occurred in them. Some scholars permit performing Ruqyah with them if it is done with what is known from the Book of Allah or the remembrance of Allah, provided that the meaning is understood and the Ruqyah is free from Shirk (polytheism). This is based on what was narrated from Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, who ordered a Jewish woman to perform Ruqyah on Aisha with the Book of Allah. As for what whose meaning is unknown, it is not permissible to perform Ruqyah with it for fear that it may contain Shirk or magic.
