The question

Is the hadith mentioned in Al-Durr Al-Manthur by Al-Suyuti, on the authority of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), which states, "Between Adam and Noah was one thousand years, and between Noah and Abraham was one thousand years, and between Abraham and Moses was seven hundred years, and between Moses and Jesus was one thousand five hundred years, and between Jesus and our Prophet was six hundred years," authentic or not authentic?

The answer

This narration was mentioned by Al-Suyuti in Al-Durr Al-Manthur and attributed to Al-Hakim. It is found in Al-Hakim's Al-Mustadrak from the hadith of Ali bin Zayd, from Yusuf bin Mahran. This isnad is not sound, because Ali bin Zayd is weak in hadith, and Yusuf bin Mahran is unknown, and no one narrated from him except Ali bin Zayd.
