Is it permissible for a father to order his daughter to marry a specific person against her will, and will her disobedience to this command anger her father and Allah?

It is permissible for a father to recommend to his daughter that she marry a specific person if he sees benefit and compatibility in him. Fulfilling this recommendation is considered an act of righteousness and keeping a covenant, as long as the recommended person is not displeasing in terms of religion and character. However, if the daughter is not pleased with the suitor for reasons other than his lack of religiosity, she is not obligated to fulfill the recommendation, and she will not be considered disobedient for that; because an unmarried virgin has the right to choose. So, if her father married her off against her will due to her dislike of her husband, she retains the right to choose [to annul the marriage]. Therefore, others who have not yet married have an even greater right to choose.
