The answer

The sacred months are: Rajab, Dhu al-Qadah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and Muharram. Rajab was named the month of Mudar because they did not alter its timing. Some scholars have stated that rewards and punishments are multiplied in the sacred months, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿So do not wrong yourselves therein﴾. Sins are not multiplied in number, but rather in quality, meaning a sin committed therein is graver in transgression than a sin committed outside of them.
