What is the ruling on distributing the 'aqiqah of a newborn?

It is from the Sunnah to slaughter the 'Aqiqah for the newborn, and it is permissible to eat from it and to feed relatives, friends, and the poor, whether it is cooked or raw. It is recommended to cook the entire 'Aqiqah, even that which is given as charity from it.
