What is the ruling on the prayer of one who was ignorant that removing the sock invalidates wiping over it?

The cure for the waswas (whispers/obsessive thoughts) about delaying Wudu' (ablution) and prayer is to ignore them. If you removed your socks after wiping over them, then put them back on and wiped over them again without renewing your Wudu', then your wiping is invalid, your prayers are void, and you must repeat them, according to the majority of scholars. Some scholars, like Ibn Taymiyyah, hold the view that ignorance is an excuse, and repetition is not obligatory. It is permissible for someone suffering from waswas to act upon this opinion.
