The answer

This article is of unknown attribution to any scholar. If its intent is that those who remember Allah do not neglect prayer times, and therefore do not need the muezzin's alert, then this is mostly true, as some of the Salaf would hasten to the mosque before the Adhan. However, the Adhan was legislated to inform people about the prayer, because there is no one who is not preoccupied or asleep. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said regarding the first Fajr Adhan: "Let not Bilal's Adhan prevent any of you from his suhoor, for he calls the Adhan or proclaims at night so that your worshiper may return and your sleeper may awaken." It appears that the use of this statement is incorrect.
