What is the difference between haram and makruh tahrim? May Allah reward you.

There is no difference between the jurists' statements "this is haram (forbidden)" and "this is makruh (disliked) to the extent of tahrim (prohibition)"; their import is one and the same. As for the difference between disliked to the extent of tahrim and disliked to the extent of tanzih (disapproval), the former refers to that which the texts of revelation have prohibited, and there is no abrogating factor that turns it away from prohibition, such as the Almighty's saying: "All that was evil in the sight of your Lord is detestable (makruhan)." As for disliked to the extent of tanzih, it refers to that which has been prohibited, but another evidence indicates that the prohibition is not for tahrim but for tanzih, such as the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibition of drinking while standing.
