What is the ruling on a girl traveling for study?

A girl is permitted to travel for study accompanied by her husband or a mahram. If she needs to reside alone, it is permissible for her to do so if the place is safe.

However, if a husband or mahram is not available, she is not permitted to travel. It is preferable for her to seek education in her place of residence.

If she cannot find a way to do so and is in need of studying, there is no harm in taking the concession from those who permitted travel without a mahram when there is no fear of fitna, especially if the travel is by plane and with a group of women, while being careful to avoid anything that could lead to fitna.
