What is the ruling on the statement: "Allah created nothing stronger than supplication; He made it stronger even than His decrees"?

Supplication (Du'a) is a means of repelling harm and attaining benefits, as stated in the Hadith: "Nothing averts destiny except supplication."

As for the statement that supplication is the most powerful of creations, and more powerful than Allah's decrees, it is a statement that must be avoided for two reasons:

1. Ambiguity of the term: The term "Du'a" (supplication) encompasses the action of the servant, which is created, and it also encompasses Allah's names, attributes, and speech, which are uncreated. Stating unequivocally that "supplication is created" may contain falsehood. 2. Implication that supplication is outside Allah's decree: Supplication itself is part of Allah's decree. Averting destiny by supplication is averting one decree by another. Nothing falls outside Allah's decree, power, and sovereignty. Therefore, it is impossible for supplication to be more powerful than the divine decree, for Allah is the Creator of both the cause and the effect.

A Muslim should speak with clarity, avoiding ambiguity, such as saying: "Supplication is one of the most beneficial means that Allah destines for His servant."
