What is the ruling on one who kills himself with the intention of obeying Allah thereby?

Suicide is not permissible for any reason whatsoever, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not kill yourselves. Indeed, Allah is ever Merciful to you," and as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever kills himself with a piece of iron, his iron will be in his hand, stabbing him in his belly in the Hellfire, abiding eternally therein forever. And whoever drinks poison and kills himself with it, he will be drinking it in the Hellfire, abiding eternally therein forever. And whoever throws himself down from a mountain and kills himself, he will be throwing himself down in the Hellfire, abiding eternally therein forever." Thus, suicide is one of the greatest major sins and leads to eternal abode in Hellfire, and it does not please Allah Almighty with such disobedience.
