Does divorce occur if a man says to his wife: "You are divorced, divorced, divorced; you are divorced, divorced, divorced," in a moment of intense anger, and then regrets it?

If the husband utters the divorce (talaq) while in a state of extreme anger that overwhelms his mind, then the divorce does not take place. However, if the anger was slight and he was aware of what he was saying, then his divorce takes effect. If he intended to initiate divorce with these words, one pronouncement of divorce is counted according to the madhhab of Ibn Taymiyyah, and three pronouncements according to the madhhab of the majority of scholars. However, if he did not intend to initiate divorce but rather repeated it for emphasis, then only one pronouncement of divorce takes place. If he says "You are divorced, divorced, divorced" and intended emphasis, it is accepted from him; but if he intended to effect multiple divorces, then she is divorced three times; and if he did not intend anything, one pronouncement takes place. It is advisable to present the matter to a Sharia court.
