If a person supplicates, should he wipe his face with his hands after the supplication?

A servant's supplication to his Lord, raising his hands therein, is prescribed and encouraged. As for wiping the face with the palms of the hands after supplication, two weak hadiths have been reported concerning it. The first was narrated by Ibn Majah, and in its chain is Salih ibn Hassan, who is very weak. The second was narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, and in its chain is Hammad ibn Isa, who is weak. Since supplication is a prescribed act of worship, and there is no strong Sunnah (definition), whether verbal or practical, proven for wiping the face with the palms of the hands, it is better to abstain from it.
