Do children's verbal abuse of their mother and their fear of their father constitute hypocrisy? And what is the ruling on this act and its Shar'i guidance?

Children must show filial piety to their mother, treat her with kindness, and never mistreat her, no matter her condition. For showing filial piety to one's mother is one of the most obligatory duties, and it is more emphasized than showing filial piety to one's father; the mother is due three-quarters of piety. Part of filial piety is addressing parents with respect and reverence. Allah the Almighty says: "So do not say to them, 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small'" (Al-Isra: 23-24). If the mother commits some reprehensible acts, the children should forbid her gently and respectfully, without harshness or abuse.
