It is not permissible for a man to threaten his wife with divorce without cause, and it is forbidden for him to doubt her or to think ill of her, as this harms her and violates Allah's command to avoid suspicion.

If the husband is poor and unable to provide for his wife, he has no right to prevent her from working, as long as her work adheres to the Sharia guidelines. If the husband does not abide by these rulings, the wife is permitted to seek divorce from him.
