The answer

Whoever wishes to pray Witr with one unit of prayer (rak'ah) should perform two prostrations (sajdatayn), then recite the Tashahhud, and then give the salutations of peace (tasleem). It is preferable to pray Witr with three units of prayer (rak'ahs) in order to avoid the disagreement of those who stipulate three rak'ahs as the minimum for Witr.
