Does performing 'Umrah between Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and then Hajj, make the Hajj a Tamattu' Hajj? Is it permissible to enter Makkah without Ihram from the Miqat of Sayl al-Kabeer and perform Ihram from Makkah? Does that entail a compensatory sacrifice (dam)? And is the compensatory sacrifice (dam) the same as the sacrificial offering (hady)?

If you perform 'Umrah (definition) during the months of Hajj and then return to your country, and then you enter into the state of ihram (definition) for Hajj in the same year, you are not considered a mutamatti' (one performing tamattu' Hajj) according to the majority of scholars. Therefore, the sacrificing of an animal (dam al-tamattu') is not obligatory upon you. It is not permissible to pass the miqat (definition) without ihram for anyone intending to perform a ritual (nusuk). If you do so and then enter into ihram from Mecca, you are liable for a dam (sacrifice) for neglecting an obligation. And whoever is liable for a dam due to neglecting an obligation, and was also a mutamatti', then two dams are obligatory upon him: a dam of جبران ( جبران dam - for neglecting an obligation) from which it is not permissible to eat, and a dam of شكران (شكران dam - for tamattu') from which it is permissible to eat.
