What is the value of Zakat due on a car workshop, including its machinery, goods, and profits?

There is no zakat (definition) on workshop equipment and machinery unless it is prepared for sale, because zakat is not obligatory on fixed assets not prepared for sale. Zakat is obligatory on the workshop's income if it reaches the nisab (definition) and a hawl (lunar year) has passed over it. As for goods prepared for trade in the workshop, zakat on trade goods is obligatory on them, which is a quarter of one-tenth of their value when the hawl is due.
