The answer

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded to give charity from the meat of sacrificial animals. The obligation of giving charity is the view of the Shafi'i and Hanbali schools of thought. Whoever does not give any charity from his sacrificial animal is liable for the minimum amount that can be called "meat" if he intentionally ate it or was negligent. However, if he was not negligent and the sacrificial animal was destroyed after slaughter or stolen from him, then he is not liable for anything. If something from the sacrificial animal remains and is not destroyed, then it should be given in charity to avoid disagreement.
