Is a wife obliged to obey her husband in everything, especially if he orders her to kiss his hand and head in front of people, or if he prevents her from going out, or refuses to carry bags or trash, claiming that it is not a man's job, or insists on always walking in front of her? And what is the ruling on these actions of his in Islam?

The husband's right over his wife is great, and her obedience to him is restricted to what is good and reasonable. It does not include anything that contradicts the Sharia, harms her, or exceeds her capacity, just as it is specific to matters of marriage. She is not obliged to obey her husband's request to kiss his hand and head in front of others. The wife should honor her husband, and the husband should treat her well and be gentle with her, for a man's guardianship means taking care of religious and worldly interests with mercy and kindness, not domination and tyranny.
