What is the ruling on drawing a masked person, knowing that drawing a face is permissible and that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The image is the head"?

There is no harm in drawing or depicting that whose facial features are not clear, such as when they are hidden by a veil, because it is not considered a true image. It is also permissible to depict or draw only the face or only the head, because a living being cannot survive missing either of them. Ibn Qudamah stated that depicting a body without a head or a head without a body does not fall under the prohibition. It was narrated from Ibn Abbas and others that "the image is the head, so if the head is cut off, it is not an image." The scholars have equated with the head anything without which life cannot exist.
