What are the limits of the relationship between one woman and another, and is it permissible to kiss and embrace a sister for the sake of Allah, and what are the regulations for that?
Love for the sake of Allah is one of the firmest bonds of faith. However, when a woman finds an unnatural inclination towards another woman whom she loves for the sake of Allah, she should know that this love is not for the sake of Allah, and that Satan has a share in it. She must avoid the causes and inducements of this inclination, such as looking, touching, and so forth. As for kissing and embracing between women, there is a difference of opinion if it occurs under normal circumstances and without an unnatural inclination. But if this inclination exists, it must be avoided. Furthermore, it is forbidden to derive pleasure from touching an attractive young male (al-amrad) by the consensus of Muslims, and by analogy, this applies to a woman touching a woman or a man touching a man with lust.
