The wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with whom he had a relationship of lineage or kinship, were seven women. Six of them were Qurayshi: Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (she met him in Qusayy ibn Kilab), Aishah bint Abi Bakr (she met him in Murrah ibn Ka'b), Hafsah bint Umar (she met him in Ka'b ibn Lu'ayy), Umm Habibah Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan (she met him in Abd Manaf), Umm Salamah Hind bint Abi Umayyah (she met him in Murrah ibn Ka'b), and Sawdah bint Zam'ah (she met him in Lu'ayy ibn Ghalib). And one was not from Quraysh: Zaynab bint Jahsh al-Asadiyyah, who was the daughter of Umaymah bint Abd al-Muttalib.
