The answer

A Muslim is not permitted to assist usurious banks, because Allah Almighty says: (And do not cooperate in sin and aggression). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses. If an Islamic bank exists for transferring money, then it is obligatory to transfer to it. If it does not exist, then it is permissible to transfer to usurious banks under certain conditions: that the account be current without interest, and that the money not be left in the bank after being transferred but rather withdrawn immediately so that the bank does not use it in its unlawful transactions. It is permissible to leave a small amount to prevent the account from being closed. Scholars of the Permanent Committee and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen have permitted receiving salaries through a bank on the condition that they are not left for usurious investment, and that the account is opened solely for receiving the salary.
