Are the hadiths about circumcision weak? Is it not from the Sunnah? And is it obligatory to combat those who perform it, as the Sheikh of Al-Azhar stated?

The ruling on circumcision was previously addressed in Fatwa No. 32219. Perhaps the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar was referring to female circumcision, concerning which there are both authentic and weak narrations. Among them is the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to Umm Atiyyah: "When you circumcise, do not overdo it." Its ruling was previously mentioned in the aforementioned fatwa.
