What are the etiquettes of visiting graves, and do the dead feel their families?

Visiting graves is a recommended Sunnah (definition) to remember death and the Hereafter. It has certain manners, including: greeting their inhabitants and supplicating for them, not sitting on them, and not walking between them with leather sandals. There is no specific recommended time for visiting graves. Narrations and traditions indicate that the deceased feel comforted by the visit of their relatives and respond to them.
