If a gambler repents, does he get rid of only the profits from gambling, or does he also get rid of profits from a business whose capital originated from gambling?

Money earned from gambling is illicit (khabith) and forbidden (haram). It must be disposed of, and it is not permissible to trade with it, because gambling is a form of Maysir (games of chance), which is an abomination from the work of Satan. Allah has commanded us to avoid it, as He says: "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful."
