Is cannabidiol (CBD), extracted from cannabis, which contains a very small percentage of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), does not cause euphoria, is legally permitted for sale, has health benefits, and is used medically, considered religiously forbidden?

It is not permissible to intentionally add intoxicating or narcotic substances, such as "THC," the active ingredient in cannabis, to food or medicine. However, if it has already been added, and the sin lies with the one who added it, then if the narcotic is consumed in the food or medicine and its effect does not appear, and it does not intoxicate the one who consumes it, then there is no harm in that. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa permitting the use of medicines that contain a small percentage of intoxicating alcohol if its effect does not appear in the medicine.
