Is praying for death disliked (makruh) or forbidden (haram) for someone who cannot endure life and feels suffering in it?

Wishing for death is disliked, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it. Therefore, one should not venture to wish for it. Instead, you should ask Allah to keep you alive as long as life is better for you, and to cause you to die if death is better for you.

Wishing for death is disliked when a person is afflicted by harm to their body or by hardship in their worldly life. It is recommended to say: "O Allah, keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and cause me to die if death is better for me." As for supplicating for death upon oneself, it falls under the blameworthy wishing for death, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade supplicating against oneself.
